NBC to begin quarterly digital switch-over in Plateau

Malam Awwalu Salihu, Director of Public Affairs, National Broadcasting Commission (NBC), on Tuesday said the commission had concluded arrangements to start Quarterly Pilot Digital Switch-over in Plateau.

Salihu made this known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja.

He said that as part of preparations ahead of the switch-over, NBC had already placed media advertisement to introduce it to the public.

The director also said that the commission would soon start the media advertisement to inform the people that the transition was on the way.

“ At the moment, we are just about to start the pilot switch-over in Plateau; we are putting the final building blocks in place.

“ We are bringing in the set up boxes, we are getting them ready and as soon as they are fully framed for distribution to the public, we will start the Plateau switch-over.

“ This will happen within the first quarter of the year,“ Salihu said.

He said that NBC had organised a two-day workshop for Information Officers in Plateau, Federal Information Officers, and Information Officers of the National Orientation Agency (NOA) in the state.

The director said that during the training, the information officers were educated on how to send message of the transition to the grassroots.
