N’Delta security outfit parades suspects with large cache of arms
THE Niger Delta anti-crime security outfit ‘Operation Pulo Shield’, yesterday paraded three suspected militants and pipeline vandals with large cache of arms and ammunition, at its headquarters in Opolo, Yenagoa.
Commander of the outfit, Major General Alani Gafar Okunola, said the exercise was part of its continuous raid on suspected militant camps in the Niger Delta creeks.
The suspects whose names were given as Mako Ajagidi, a.k.a Sosor, Godspower Alebi and Otiki Ariri, were said to have been apprehended along the Benin river and adjoining creeks in Itagbene, Warri North Local Council of Delta State.
Arms and ammunition allegedly recovered from them include; One Light Machine Gun (LMG), five AK47 rifles, one G3 rifle, one LAR rifle, 20 AK47 magazines, two LAR rifle magazine, 415 rounds of 7.62mm and 39mm special.
