NEDC graduates 300 digital vehicular diagnostics technicians in North East

To boost the entrepreneurship skills of youth and the crumbling economy of the North East, the newly established North East Development Commission (NEDC) has trained 300 youths in Digital Vehicular Diagnostics Technicians in Adamawa and Kaduna states.

While speaking at the graduation ceremony yesterday in Fufore Local Council, the Managing Director of NEDC, Mohammed Alkali, said the commission designed the training to empower North East youths with modern skills for repairing modern vehicles in the country.

He said that the digital vehicular diagnostics and maintenance training for automobile technicians will reshape the automobile industry in the country since modern technology will now be deployed to tackle difficult mechanical challenges faced by technicians in the past.

Alkali pointed out that when the board of the commission was set up by the Federal Government, the first challenge it identified was how to tackle the unemployment crisis in the North East, as well as the problem of out-of-school children.

He stated that training of the first batch of participants in the digital vehicular diagnostics and maintenance training for automobile technicians was held in Kaduna in partnership with Peugeot Automobile of Nigeria (PAN), where a total of 150 youths were trained.
