The Federal Government has launched the registration portal for the National Youth Conference 2025, also known as Youth Confab 2025. The groundbreaking initiative, launched on Monday, aims to galvanise the energy, ideas, and influence of Nigerian youth toward national development.
It is noted that the conference is a nationwide participatory process designed to ensure that young Nigerians take centre stage in shaping the country’s future.
The Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, while unveiling the portal at a press briefing in Abuja, described the Youth Confab as a “generational turning point” and “a national movement” rooted in inclusivity, transparency, and youth ownership.
Themed ‘Next-Gen Nigeria: Crafting Solutions, Owning the Future,’ the National Youth Conference 2025 is designed as a multi-tier, participatory process that empowers youth to take centre stage in Nigeria’s governance and policy design.
Olawande also stated that 36,000 participants, representing all 360 federal constituencies, are expected to register and participate in the conference.
He explained that the conference, convened under the visionary leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, will be youth-led, inclusive, non-partisan, and open to participation from all segments of Nigeria’s diverse youth population, including those in the diaspora.
Olawande said: “This conference will provide young Nigerians from every ward, community, state, and the diaspora the opportunity to unite, engage, and reshape the future of our nation. With over 70 per cent of our population under the age of 35, it is clear that Nigeria’s destiny is directly linked to the creativity, energy, and aspirations of her youth.
“Now, more than ever, it is time to transform our collective frustrations into solutions, and our hopes into actionable policies. The Youth Confab will be executed through a multi-level, participatory process, including Diaspora Virtual Engagements, to ensure that young Nigerians abroad can contribute meaningfully to this national process; Consultations across all 360 Federal Constituencies, ensuring that every young Nigerian has the opportunity to be heard; and Zonal Consolidation Meetings across the six geopolitical zones, where grassroots opinions will be harmonised.
“A National Conference in Abuja, where policy recommendations will be co-created and presented for consideration at the highest levels of government.”
The minister called on all Nigerian students, entrepreneurs, creatives, artisans, professionals, and those in the diaspora to step forward and contribute to national development.
In his remarks, Chairman of the National Planning Committee for Youth Confab 2025, Olubunmi Olusanya, noted that the selection process will be open, inclusive, and merit-based, with a 90 per cent representation of youth (ages 18–35) and 10 per cent from older generations to foster intergenerational dialogue.
Olusanya said, “The National Youth Confab is a moment in history. It inspires hope and provides an opportunity for young people to reimagine a Nigeria that works for its youth. It is a chance to move from protest to policy, from problems to solutions, and challenges to progress.”
He stated that the official registration portal, https://nationalyouthconfab.gov.ng, is now live, enabling young Nigerians aged 18–35 to register as delegates, submit policy ideas, or participate in virtual consultations. The registration deadline is June 30, 2025, at 6:00 p.m.
