Niger teacher, Galadima, faces panel for sexually assaulting 14 pupils

Niger State Government has set up committee to investigate Alhaji Usman Galadima, a grade two teacher of Central Primary School, Karabonde in Borgu Local Council of the state, for alleged sexual assault of 14 pupils in the school.

Niger State Government has set up committee to investigate Alhaji Usman Galadima,  a grade two teacher of Central Primary School, Karabonde in Borgu Local Council  of the state, for alleged sexual assault of 14 pupils in the school.
 
The Guardian learnt that the committee is headed by the state Commissioner of Education, Hajiya Hanatu Jibrin Salihu. Other members include, Director-General, Child Rights Agency, the state Commissioner of Women Affairs and a representative of the state Universal Basic Education Board.
Members of the committee members are to travel to Borgu on a four-day fact finding mission on the case.
   
It was  gathered that Galadima  was currently in custody of  the state Criminal Investigation Department (CID), and would be brought before the committee for questioning.
   
The suspect, who has been suspended  by the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB),  confessed to the crime before a committee set up by the Borgu Education Secretary.

Spokesman for the state police Command, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, said the suspect, who Initially disappeared was arrested in  Borgu and transferred to Minna.
