Following Presidential directive that a Forward Operational Base (FOB) be established in the Lake Chad area, all is set for the take off of the base as the Nigeria Navy has completed mobilising human and material resources, awaiting deployment.

The new development is coming, even as the Nigerian Navy has said its Special Forces are in the Northeast, fighting insurgency in the Operation Lafiya Dole, but are unsung, because of the nature of deployment and their assignments.

The Director Navy Information (DINFO), Commodore Chris, told The Guardian in Abuja, that with the opening of access roads in the troubled areas, the Base would be opened soon as all necessary arrangements are being already put in place.
