2025: House of Reps Minority Caucus urges unity for Nigeria’s progress
The Minority Caucus of the House of Representatives has extended warm New Year greetings to Nigerians, urging collective action to tackle the nation’s challenges and foster development in 2025.
In a statement signed by key caucus leaders, including Minority Leader Rep. Kingsley Chinda, Minority Whip Rt. Hon. Ali Isa, Deputy Minority Leader Rt. Hon. Aliyu Madaki, and Deputy Minority Whip Rt. Hon. George Ozodinobi, the caucus expressed gratitude for the opportunity to witness the New Year in peace and called for reflection on the nation’s journey thus far.
While acknowledging the difficulties faced in 2024, marked by inflation, poverty, unemployment, and insecurity, the caucus emphasised the need for urgent reforms in governance, economic growth, and infrastructure development. They noted that addressing corruption, youth unemployment, and insecurity should be top priorities in the year ahead.
The caucus highlighted Nigeria’s diversity as a strength, urging leaders and citizens to harness it for nation-building. “No tribe, ethnicity, or group, no matter how powerful, can build the country alone. Collaboration, inclusivity, and mutual trust are essential for overcoming challenges and achieving sustainable progress,” the statement read.
Reiterating their commitment to legislative responsibilities, the caucus assured Nigerians of their dedication to addressing national issues. They encouraged unity, peace, and a collective focus on achieving common goals for a prosperous Nigeria.
The Minority Caucus ended the message with a call for leaders at all levels to recommit themselves to truthfully and wholeheartedly repositioning the country for meaningful development in 2025.
