Corps members Saturday abandoned their duties as ad-hoc electoral officers after their units were attacked by political thugs.

The corps members sought refuge at the palace of the King of Enewari, Southern Ijaw LGA.

An eye witness said the thugs were after electoral materials were aided by soldiers.
