A stalwart of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) from the South-West region, Olufemi Ajadi, has reiterated his resolve to change the narrative in public office representation in the country.

Ajadi who spoke on the sidelines of the NNPP convention in Abuja said he would work to prove the point that Nigerian politicians could be trusted.

This he said he would do, by delivering on the promises he had thus far made, and directly impacting the lives of the constituents.

Ajadi, had yesterday, stormed the NNPP convention ground. Upon his arrival, he was given a heroic welcome by teeming supporters.

In another statement signed by his Consultant on Media and Strategy, Cami Ezenwa, Ajadi said that being a running mate to a man that understands the needs of the people and was willing to ensure those needs are met, would make all the difference.

He said just like him, that the NNPP presidential candidate, Senator, Rabiu Kwankwaso, has great concern for the Nigerian youths, and would ensure their interests are adequately represented in their government.

He said aside from their common belief in improving a lot of the youths, that there were other areas of critical importance that they had lined up for intervention once voted into power in 2023.

He said it was not by mistake that he had demonstrated commitment to meeting up to 65 percent of the needs of the youths, adding that at the end of the day, it would translate to a better society and a better country for Nigerians.

Ajadi, who had before now, aimed at the presidency before agreeing to step down for Kwankwaso said it was all in the interest of the Nigerians, adding that his decision to take up the gauntlet in the first place was to improve a lot of Nigerians.

It would be recalled that Ajadi’s step-down move happened before a mammoth crowd of the party’s supporters and other Nigerians at the Iwe Iroyin, Abeokuta on the 26 of May 2022.

Describing NNPP’s convention as a special one, he said it would mark a real move in the emancipation of Nigeria from bad leadership.

He also lamented widespread suffering in the land, blaming it on bad leadership; asserting that the country was already blessed and that her citizens should not suffer.

“Nigeria is a country that God Himself has blessed, but look around you today, you will agree with me that things are not working well.

“There is hunger in the land, even though Nigeria has arable land and a variety of foods and crops.

“There is insecurity in the country, even though there is an elected government, with the Police, the Army, Navy and Air force.

“Our children finish school and there are no jobs. Is it a wonder that there is crime everywhere?

“Roads are in terrible condition and there is no public water supply, no electricity, and all the necessities of life. But we have a government. We have billions of naira in cash and assets.

“I now ask, what is the missing link? Distinguished Nigerians, the missing link is Selfless, sincere, and servant-based leadership, guided by the highest sense of equity and fairness. That is what we in the NNPP have come to offer,” he said.

Ajadi said the economic problem and the insecurity in the country could only be corrected if Nigerians voted for NNPP in the 2023 general election.
