A 22-year-old suspected blackmailer allegedly notorious for impersonating women and luring men to pay for access to nude and explicit contents has been arrested by police operatives.
The spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, disclosed the details of his arrest in a statement released on Tuesday.
The suspect, who was identified as Malik Opeyemi, was arrested on May 16.
One of his victims reported him to the police, who in turn traced him to Oyo State, where he was apprehended.
He was later transferred to Lagos State for investigations and has been charged to court.
According to the spokesperson, Opeyemi lured his victims into making nude video calls with him, blackmailed and exploited them. He also demanded N25,000 for “subscription fee” to the contents.
Hundeyin further noted that Opeyemi’s sojourn into the world of crime began in January and he has made about N4 million since then.
“Investigation revealed that the suspect has obtained over four million naira (₦4,000,000) from over thirty victims since he started this criminal enterprise in January 2025,” Hundeyin noted.
“Further investigations revealed his modus operandi as demanding twenty-five thousand naira (₦25,000) payment referred to as “subscription” fee from his victims for access to nude and intimate contents.”
Two Android phones were recovered from his possession and several explicit contents were uncovered during a forensic analysis.
Hundeyin reiterated the command’s commitment to combating cybercrime.
“The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Olohundare Jimoh, assures the public of the command’s unwavering commitment to combating cybercrime and safeguarding residents from digital exploitation.”
“He urges citizens to remain vigilant in their online activities and promptly report any suspicious behavior, reaffirming the command’s dedication to ensuring that all offenders are brought to justice.”
