24-year-old welder electrocuted in Lagos
A 24-year-old welder, simply identified as Adedeji, was electrocuted on Lagos Island while working.
On Tuesday, a man reported to the Adeniji Adele Police Division that the welder was working at a plaza under renovation on Nnamdi Azikiwe Street, Lagos Island, when he was electrocuted.
Upon receipt of the report, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) led a patrol team and detectives from the division to the scene, where they found the victim’s lifeless body on the second floor of the building. His two legs were burnt off, and his body had fallen to the first floor.
The body was evacuated to Yaba General Hospital, where the doctor on duty confirmed him dead.
The deceased’s remains have been deposited at the hospital morgue for preservation and autopsy, while the Lagos State Police Command has commenced an investigation into the incident.
