Abuja church builds 4-bedroom bungalow for homeless widow

A widow who had long endured homelessness with her six children has found a new lease of life after a church in Abuja constructed a four-bedroom bungalow for her in her hometown.

Mrs Agnes Jimoh, a member of Kingdom Stars Gospel Centre in Abuja, was handed the symbolic keys to her new home in Lokoja, Kogi State, during a thanksgiving service held at the church last week.

Her story, once marked by hardship and sorrow, took a dramatic turn when the church—led by its Senior Pastor, Peter Inyang—embarked on a compassionate project to provide her with a permanent home.

“We celebrate Mama Agnes Jimoh, a widow whose resilience, dedication, and unwavering faith have inspired many,” Pastor Inyang said. “From providing temporary shelter to building her a brand-new four-bedroom bungalow in her hometown, this is what the Church was always meant to be — a living expression of love.”

Inyang cited the Book of Acts as the inspiration behind the initiative, referencing Acts 2:44-47, where early Christians lived communally and ensured no one lacked basic needs.

“Today, we’ve seen the gospel lived, not just preached,” he said.

Overcome with emotion, Mrs Jimoh broke into tears of joy as she received the keys. She expressed profound gratitude to the church and its leadership, describing the gift as the answer to years of prayers and a complete turnaround from despair to hope.

Her new home not only ends years of uncertainty and hardship but also signals a renewed beginning for her children.

Mrs Jimoh’s story has resonated with many in the church community and beyond, serving as a poignant reminder of the role religious institutions can play in offering practical support to society’s most vulnerable.
