Armed robbers attack business man, cart away cash in Minna

A four-man armed robbery gang has attacked a businessman identified as Sale and robbed him of an unspecified amount of money.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Monday, September 8, 2025, at Tunga Market in Minna, Niger State.

The victim reported that he had a business deal on Sunday at NNPC, near the city gate in Minna, and had collected his money from the station that morning with the intention of depositing it into a bank later.

An eyewitness from the scene of the attack told newsmen that the four robbers blocked the victim’s vehicle with their Corolla car near the congested Tunga market, opened his vehicle’s back seat and boot, and stole the valuables before zooming off towards David Mark Road, Minna, to an unknown destination.

The victim, who is an elderly person, looked confused.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Niger State Command, has instructed all Area Commanders in Minna and the DPO in Tudun-Wada Division to act promptly and conduct a forensic investigation to identify and arrest the culprits. Meanwhile, the victim is advised to report the incident officially at the nearest Police station.

The command spokesman, SP Wasiu Abiodun, in a statement issued to newsmen shortly after the attack, disclosed that all police patrol teams and divisions were immediately alerted for quick intervention, immediate possible recovery, and the arrest of the suspected armed robbers.
