Bandits kill community guard, two hunters in Zamfara

Armed bandits have killed a member of the Community Protection Guard (CPG) and two local hunters during an attack in Kungurki village, Kaura Namoda Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

Security analyst and counter insurgency expert, Zagazola Makama, in a report on Monday said that the incident occurred late Sunday evening.

According to Makama, a joint team of CPG personnel and local hunters mobilised to counter an alleged large movement of suspected bandits believed to be loyal to a notorious kingpin, Muhammad Bello, also known as Dansaudi.

“The source said that the security volunteers had advanced into the village to repel the bandits when they came under heavy gunfire,” Makama said.

He stated that three members of the joint team, one CPG operative and two hunters were fatally shot in the ambush.
