A popular Nigerian rapper, Folarin Falana, also known as Falz, has requested an apology and retraction of defamatory statements made against him by cross-dresser Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, within 12 hours.

This demand was made through a letter dated October 14, 2024, and signed by Olorunfemi Akinyemi, Esq., and Taiwo E. Olawanle, Esq., of Falana and Falana’s Chambers.

The letter demands that Bobrisky retract every defamatory statement and issue a written apology, which should be published on all platforms where the defamatory remarks were shared.

If Bobrisky fails to comply, the letter states that Falz will pursue legal remedies, including seeking monetary damages.

The letter also disclosed that Bobrisky took advantage of his recent imprisonment to extort a group of artists and members of the public.

The letter stated: “We have verified that during your recent incarceration, you exploited the situation to demand money from a collective of artists and other individuals from the community.

“On May 4, 2024, you contacted Mr. Folarin Falana, also known as Falz, and asked him for N3,000,000 (Three Million Naira) to secure a special place in the Kirikiri Correctional Centre.

“Although Mr. Falana declined your request, you were recorded in a video as saying that his father, Mr. Femi Falana, SAN, assured you that he would write a letter of pardon for you.

“You also mentioned that Mr. Femi Falana, SAN, informed you that N10,000,000 (Ten Million Naira) would be required to bribe officials handling the pardon application.

“Be advised that if we do not receive your formal retraction and apology as demanded within 12 (twelve) hours of receipt hereof, we shall proceed with our client’s instructions to seek appropriate legal remedies, including monetary damages, against you for your incendiary defamatory statements.”

This letter is in response to the alarm Verydarkman raised, alleging Falz’s involvement in securing a presidential pardon through his father, renowned Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Mr. Femi Falana, for N10 million. Both Falz and his father have respectively demanded a public apology from Verydarkman, which he has obliged.
