An Abuja based businessman, Alhaji Abubakar Aliyu, has threatened a N50 billion defamation suit against on air personality and Nollywood actress, Toke Makinwa over false allegations.

Makinwa had reportedly accused Aliyu of dating her and making false promises to her.

According to reports, because of the alleged unfilled promises, the actress reportedly slammed a law against the businessman.

But while refuting the allegation, Aliyu gave the actress 48 hours ultimatum to retract “the false allegation” or fae N50 billion defamation lawsuit.

Aliyu said he never met with the actress and wondered why she would make such allegations against him.

Aliyu’s media aide, Joseph Kadiri, described the allegation as cheap blackmail by his detractors to ridicule him and bring him to disrepute.

The statement reads in part: “I never met with the lady in question all my life and wondered why the so-called Makinwa will make such spurious and malicious allegations against me.

“I am a responsible married man and will not stoop so low to such an act.

“I am demanding that Makinwa retract the allegation and tendered an unreserved apology that must be published in at least seven national dailies and all the online platforms where the allegations were published.

“I am demanding all the online platforms to pull down the publication and also apologise for not varying before going to press as responsible journalism demands, that claims must be verified.

“Failure to do this within the next 48 hours I will have no option but to approach the court to seek for redress.”\\
