No fewer than 115 members and supporters of the Order of the Knights of St. Mulumba (KSM), Nigeria, have been honoured in Lagos for their commitment to charity and humanitarian service, as the organisation stepped up preparations for its 47th Annual Supreme Council Convention scheduled for November. The awards were presented last Friday during the KSM Supreme Council Convention 2026 Pre-Convention Dinner held in Lagos, where Catholic Knights from across Nigeria and the international community gathered to celebrate members’ contributions to the Order’s charitable mission.

Chairman of the Convention Organising Committee, Sir Benjamin Omenazu-Agba Ofodile, commended the chairman of the pre-convention dinner, Sir Ralph J. Karieren, for what he described as an event that reflected the unity of members towards a successful national convention.

Ofodile said the dinner provided an opportunity to recognise members who have remained steadfast in advancing the Order’s charitable ideals, while mobilising support for the convention slated for November 24 to 29, 2026.

“This gathering demonstrates the unwavering commitment of our members and supporters to the ideals of charity and service upon which the Order is founded. We are particularly grateful to Sir Ralph J. Karieren for delivering a world-class pre-convention dinner that has set the tone for a successful national convention,” he said.

Representatives from the 32 Sub-Councils within the Lagos Metro-Council, covering Lagos and Ogun states, were recognised as “Champions of Charity” for their sustained contributions to the humanitarian activities of the Order.

The recipients received specially designed Platinum, Diamond and Gold acrylic plaques, which were blessed by the Archbishop of the Lagos Metropolitan See, Most Rev. Dr. Adewale Martins, alongside Sir Dr. Charles Mbelede and Sir Godwin Nosa Ehigiator.

Organisers said the honours were bestowed on Worthy Brothers and Worthy Sisters in recognition of their decades of support for the Order’s charitable mission and their commitment to ensuring the success of the digitally driven Lagos Metro-Council as it prepares to host the forthcoming national convention.

They added that the awards reflected appreciation for members whose generosity and dedication have strengthened the Order’s humanitarian outreach over the years, urging members to sustain the spirit of sacrifice, faith and service as preparations for the convention gather momentum.

The pre-convention dinner renewed pledges by members to work collectively towards a successful 47th Annual KSM Supreme Council Convention while advancing the Order’s enduring commitment to charity and community service.

Among the dignitaries at the event were Sir Charles Cobbs, KSJ, KoM, International President of the International Alliance of Catholic Knights (IACK) Worldwide; IACK Vice President and immediate past Supreme Knight of Nigeria, Sir Dr. Charles Mbelede, accompanied by his wife, Lady Dr. Ify Mbelede, PMLP, as well as Noble Lady Anthonia Obah.

The Worthy Metro-Grand Knight, Sir Godwin Nosa Ehigiator, served as Chief Host, while the Worthy Deputy Supreme Knight Commander, Sir Dan Uzochukwu Egwu, chaired the occasion.
