Cholera kills 10 in Ebonyi
ANOTHER cholera outbreak has claimed 10 lives in Ebonyi State, bringing the number to 30 the epidemic has killed in the state recently.
Confirming the incidents of cholera outbreak, the State Epidemiologist, Dr. Francis Onwe said about 20 other victims of the disease are receiving treatment in hospitals in the area.
To address this, the newly sworn-in Ebonyi State executive council during its maiden council meeting approved funds for immediate intervention by relevant agencies of government in the communities where there have been incidents of cholera outbreak in the state.
Commissioner for Information and State Orientation, Senator Emmanuel Onwe said that the state executive council has ordered relevant environmental agencies to immediately deploy workers to ensuring emergency clearance of wastes to the appropriate dump sites and ensure cleanliness of the environment.
