Council boss cautions youths against criminality

THE Executive Chairman of Isoko North Local Council, Hon. Emmanuel Egbabor has warned youths in the area to desist from criminal acts and other vices capable of derailing their future, saying the law would run its full course in the event of breach.

Egbabor, who was addressing journalists on the security situation in the area at the council’s headquarters in Ozoro, urged those that had been recruited into cult groups to renounce their membership forthwith while those expelled from the Delta State Polytechnic, Ozoro to exit the town in their interest.

The chairman was quick to add that part of measures put in place to curb growing insecurity in the area was enforcement of the restriction of okada riders from 7pm. He cautioned motorcyclists against flouting the directive, noting that defaulters would be dealt with according to the law.

Egbabor said: “I advise the good people of Isoko North Local Government Area to be security-conscious and report all suspicious movements to security agents. Those who have recruited youths to use them for criminal activities will be dealt with. We will not allow anyone to take laws into their own hands in this local government.

“We are working closely with all security agencies, including the police and the vigilantes to ensure that Isoko North returns to that peaceful place as it used to be so that peace-loving people of the council can conduct their businesses without fear or molestation”.
