Egor Local Council in Edo State has issued a warning to the Managing Director of MUYI Line Transport Company and the General Manager of Mouka Foam Limited, both located along Uselu-Lagos Road, over repeated obstruction of traffic on the busy highway.
Executive Chairman of the council, Osaro Osa Eribo, gave the warning during a visit to the area, where he was accompanied by security operatives, media representatives, and other officials to assess the situation.
Eribo expressed displeasure at the continued road obstruction caused by trucks and buses belonging to the two companies, describing the practice as unlawful and disruptive to public movement.
According to him, the “repeated cases of road obstruction and traffic violations caused by trucks and buses belonging to the two companies, which have been parked indiscriminately on the service lane, create serious traffic congestion and inconvenience for road users.”
He stressed that the local council would no longer tolerate any form of traffic violation or blockage by motorists or business operators within its jurisdiction.
The chairman directed the management of both companies to report to the council secretariat immediately for further discussions and resolution of the matter.
Eribo also warned other road users and business owners to comply strictly with traffic regulations, adding that anyone found obstructing the free flow of traffic would face strict penalties as provided by law.
