Delta Police bust suspected drug ring, arrest drug baron in Warri

The Delta State Police Command has recorded another major breakthrough in its ongoing crackdown on illicit drug trafficking and substance abuse across the state, with the arrest of a suspected drug baron and two accomplices in Warri metropolis.

The development was disclosed in a statement issued on Monday by the Police Public Relations Officer of the command, SP Bright Edafe.

According to the statement, operatives attached to Area Command, Effurun, acted on credible intelligence regarding the activities of suspected drug dealers operating within Ogbomoro and Ugolo communities in Warri.

The police said the operatives carried out a covert operation on May 7, 2026, at about 9:20 p.m., leading to the arrest of a 25-year-old suspect identified as Favor Isaac, alongside two female accomplices, Favour Felix, 24, and Samson Precious, 19.

The statement revealed that during the operation, officers executed a search warrant at the suspects’ hideout located along River Road in Ogbomoro community.

Items recovered from the premises included 21 bottles of CSC Codeine, two canisters containing Nitrous Oxide, popularly known as “laughing gas,” two packs of suspected psychoactive chewing gum branded as “Highness Gum,” and 640 grams of substances suspected to be Canadian Loud concealed in different bags and containers.

Police preliminary investigations further revealed that one Rukewe Tega Isaac, who is currently at large, is allegedly the major supplier behind the drug network.

The command noted that efforts were ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspect and other members of the syndicate.

Reacting to the development, the Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, reaffirmed the command’s commitment to sustaining aggressive operations against drug trafficking and other criminal activities across the state.

Oyeniyi stated that the abuse and circulation of illicit drugs remain major drivers of violent crimes and social vices among youths.

He, therefore, urged members of the public to continue supporting the police with timely and useful information that could aid ongoing efforts to rid the state of criminal elements.
