Five policemen returning from Edo election duty die in accident
After the Edo State gubernatorial election, five policemen deployed from Kano died in a road accident on Tuesday.
Besides, eight other men of the Kano State Police Command who sustained degrees of injury in the auto crash have been taken to hospital for treatment.
A reliable source from the command who confirmed the incident told The Guardian on Tuesday evening that the accident occurred along the Kano-Zaria Expressway.
“Sadly, they lost their lives at Karfi, when their vehicle had a head-on collision with a reversing trailer,” a source told The Guardian.
It was gathered that the driver of the trailer truck is among the eight survivors currently receiving treatment at a hospital in Kano.
Confirming the sad incident, Kano State Police Commissioner Salman Dogo in a telephone conversation said the Command is taking measures to ensure that the wounded officers receive adequate treatment and survive.

He described the deaths as shocking and prayed to God to give the Command and families of the dead the fortitude to bear the loss.
