Foundation organises free medical outreach in Ogudu community

The Habour of Hope Initiative Foundation has organised a free medical outreach programme in the Ogudu community area of Lagos State to support the health needs of the people. The programme witnessed basic medical services, health checks, distribution of foodstuff, and provision of cash gifts, Ankara, and cooked food to the residents.

Founder and President of the foundation, Faith Wagbasoma, stressed the importance of routine medical check-ups, healthy living, and community support, while urging the people to prioritise their health.

Citing the rising costs of medications and healthcare services, Wagbasoma noted that the foundation’s efforts are focused on filling the gaps in healthcare delivery, particularly in underserved communities.

Wagbasoma also called on well-to-do individuals and non-governmental organisations to join hands in supporting healthcare initiatives, advocating for increased access to medical care, and promoting healthy practices.

According to her, the outreach programme was made possible through the efforts of volunteers, partners, supporters, and friends of the Habour of Hope Initiative Foundation.

She commended the King of Ogudu, Oba Najimu Akinwunmi Fashola Ogabi 1, and the people of Ogudu for their support and hospitality.

“Through this initiative, the Habour of Hope Initiative Foundation continues to demonstrate its commitment to building stronger communities and keeping hope alive.

“High blood pressure is a leading cause of death among adults. Regular check-ups can help avert some critical conditions of blood pressure that may lead to death. Every family is supposed to have a BP testing apparatus to enable them maintain a regular check of their BP status. This is because high blood pressure, as a silent killer, is a leading cause of death now.”

Also speaking, Co-Founder, Wagbatsoma Ayeola, stated that the history of the foundation and their giving to the less privileged started when their children survived health challenges after birth.

He maintained that they would continue to give back to society through medical outreach, while appealing to well-meaning Nigerians to support the vision.

The King of Ogudu commended the foundation, describing the gesture as good and expressing his love for it. He prayed for the foundation, acknowledging that many people cannot afford healthcare due to the state of the economy.
