Speaking at the event, Director of Operations and International Ambassador for Nigeria Connect, Dr Abiola Fashina noted that the development stands as a beacon of learning, innovation, and progress,

She highlighted that the vision is to empower Nigerians, giving them the information they need through books.

“We believe that if we are well-educated, it will change our mindset and ultimately transform our world. Today, we are donating books that enhance security, policing, and peacekeeping. Over the past 10 years, we have built libraries in several prisons and donated over 3,000 relevant books to each institution we’ve supported.”

Fashina further emphasised that this project is the first of its kind for the Nigeria Police College and marks the beginning of more initiatives for police colleges across the country.

Nigeria Connect’s Lagos Coordinator, Omotola Jesushina, reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to creating equitable access to knowledge.

“We believe people should have a positive mindset, and reading is a powerful way to achieve that. This initiative at the police college is to ensure they are well-informed and knowledgeable in all aspects.

“Our mission is for everyone to read, research, and discover new things, regardless of their background or status,” she said.

The Commandant of the Nigeria Police College, Fasuba Akinyele, expressed his gratitude for the transformation, admitting initial skepticism when the project was first proposed.
