Lagos commends eTranzact for food relief initiative for 500 women

The Lagos State Government has lauded eTranzact International for its second Food Connect Initiative, which distributed food relief packs to 500 underprivileged women.

The programme, which aims to address economic challenges worsened by recent global events, underscores the importance of community support and solidarity.

Speaking at the event, Bolaji Dada, the Lagos State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, represented by the Director of Women Affairs, praised eTranzact for its commitment to empowering women. She called for collective efforts to tackle systemic poverty and promote sustainable programmes for financial independence.

“This initiative represents a beacon of compassion and solidarity, aimed at uplifting those who need it most—our underprivileged women,” Dada said. “Economic challenges have become more pronounced, especially in the wake of recent global events. Many families are struggling to put food on the table, and it is our duty as a community to provide support to the most vulnerable.”

Dada emphasised that the initiative demonstrates the power of collaboration among government, private organisations, and individuals in building a more equitable society. She encouraged people to remain resilient and believe in their potential.

Niyi Toluwalope, Managing Director of eTranzact, highlighted the initiative’s impact, noting that this year’s outreach doubled their previous efforts. “Today, we’re providing food relief to over 500 underprivileged women in our host community, reflecting our commitment to empowerment through education, financial literacy, and entrepreneurship,” he said.
