The Department of State Services (DSS) has arrested one Mr. Eze Ezenwa Benard for allegedly circulating fake recruitment past questions and answers through social media.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the Service said the suspect operated via a Facebook page titled “Jobs and Education”, where he advertised the fraudulent materials to unsuspecting Nigerians. Benard reportedly charged ₦1,000 for access to the fake documents.
The DSS cautioned the public against patronising such schemes, stressing that it does not sell or distribute recruitment questions, answers, or examination guides through individuals or social media platforms.
“Recruitment into the Service, when necessary, follows a specialised procedure in accordance with extant laws and due process,” the DSS stated.
The agency described the arrest as part of its ongoing efforts to protect citizens from “the fraudulent schemes of unpatriotic elements” and safeguard the integrity of its recruitment process.
It urged Nigerians to remain vigilant, verify information only through official DSS channels, and report suspicious recruitment adverts or individuals attempting to extort money under false pretenses.
The DSS assured that offenders will be prosecuted and made to face the full weight of the law.
