• Police nab baby factory operators, rescue 10
A man, Kamoru Ojo, has beaten his 27-year-old daughter, Shakirat Ojo, to death in the Ojo area of Lagos.
After killing her on March 26, 2025, he also buried her in a shallow grave within his compound at the Afromedia area of Ojo.
Following the report, a team of homicide and crime detectives visited the address.
The shallow grave was located, and the corpse was exhumed.
The suspect was arrested on April 2, 2025, and is currently in custody.
Spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, revealed this yesterday during the Lagos State Police Command’s presentation of its achievements in the last two weeks.
Hundeyin also confirmed the arrest of 39 suspects who have engaged in various crimes, including murder, kidnapping, armed robbery, rape, child stealing, vandalism, illegal operation of a baby factory, illegal possession of firearms and illicit drugs, among others.
According to him, a total of 10 firearms, 49 live ammunition, two motorcycles, one vehicle, five vandalised street light poles, telecommunication cables, two phones and illicit drugs were recovered, while 11 abducted victims were also rescued.
The Command on April 5, 2025, at about 2:00p.m., he said, received intel about a baby factory at Afurugbin, Ijegun area.
“When the Police visited the factory, they arrested 35-year-old Mariam Vincent, 23-year-old Orie Ruth and 18-year-old Ujunwa Ifeanyi.
“The Command rescued 24-year-old Precious, 25-year-old Magdalene, 23-year-old Adaobi, 22-year-old Princess, 25-year-old Ifeanyi, 26-year-old Amaka and three children; seven-year-old Destiny, five-year-old Miracle and two-year-old Success who were held in captivity,” Hundeyin said.
Hundeyin added that the suspects confessed that they abducted their victims in different areas of the state to run a baby factory.
