Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi has directed the contractor handling the Ezzillo-Iyionu-Ezzagu road in the Ishielu Local Government Area to increase action to complete the project before the rainy season.

The governor gave the directive when he paid an unscheduled visit to the project site and expressed satisfaction with the quality of work so far done.

Nwifuru noted that though the pace of the work is slow, he is happy that the contractor is doing quality work, adding that he visited the site to query the contractor, “but when I got here, I was happy.”

He stated that the contractor has assured him he will mobilise more materials and machines to the site to ensure the speedy completion of the road project.

The governor commended the people of the area for their support, which he said contributed to the progress of work on the site.

“I am very grateful that you appreciate the work. I have seen what the contractor is doing, and the quality is good. So it gladdens my heart,” he said.
