The Orijeru of Igbooye Kingdom, Oba AbdulRasaq Akanni Musa, has been formally invested and admitted into the Epe Council of Obas and Chiefs.
The historic event took place during the council’s general meeting at the Epe Local Council Secretariat, marking exactly one year since Prince Musa’s initial presentation to the council for endorsement.
The meeting was presided over by the Chairman of the Epe Council, Oba Kamorudeen Animashaun, the Oloja of Epe, who warmly welcomed the Orijeru into the council and offered prayers for a successful and impactful reign.
Following the official investiture, Oba Musa hosted a symbolic reception at the Orijeru Palace in Igbooye, where he met with key community stakeholders, including the Igbooye Council of Baales.
At the gathering, the monarch announced the appointment of new traditional chiefs, reinforcing the kingdom’s governance structure.
The appointed chiefs include Chief AbdulBariu Olugbenga Quadri as Olisa, Chief Moruff Oluwadare Salami as Egbo, Chief Rufus Adedipe as Aare, Chief Yinka Oguntimehin as Balogun, Chief Rasaq Sanni as Otun, Chief Oluranti Adebanjo as Eleku, Chief Adegbenro Otunnowo as Oluti, Chief (Mrs) Silifatu Amadasun as Iyalode, and Mrs Olusola Odusanya-Omotoso as Erelu.
Musa highlighted that the selection process was guided by the kingdom’s cultural traditions and official declaration, ensuring that all ruling houses and quarters were fairly represented.
