Plateau: Emir leads condolence visit to attacked travellers

The Emir of Wase in Plateau State, Muhammad Sambo Haruna, has led a powerful delegation to commiserate with the government and people of Kaduna State over the tragic incident in Mangu Local Government Area, where many lives were lost.

The victims were travelling from Zaria for a wedding in Quaan Pan Local Government of the state when they missed their way and were hacked by the youths.

Haruna emphasised that the visit was also to commiserate with the Emir of Zazzau and families of those who lost their beloved ones, praying for the repose of the deceased and those who sustained injuries.

He called on the people of the emirate not to allow the incident to affect the existing relationship between the two states.

The royal father said that security agencies have arrested 22 suspects in connection with the incident in Plateau.

The Emir of Zazzau, Alhaji Nuhu Bamali, in his response, thanked the Almighty Allah for the delegation’s safe journey to Zaria.

He sued for tolerance, peace and wishful respect among the people regardless of ethnic or religious differences.

The emir called on the media to promote peaceful coexistence among people rather than escalating tension.

The emir called for peace and calm, stating that such an incident should not happen again in the 21st century.

Traditional rulers, community leaders, religious leaders, commissioners, local government chairman, and stakeholders formed the delegation.
