The Police Service Commission (PSC) and the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) have fixed April 28 to 30, 2026, for the written examination for applicants seeking enlistment as police constables.
In a statement issued by the Head of Protocol and Public Affairs, Torty Njoku Kalu, the commission said the exercise will be conducted at designated centres across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
According to the statement, only candidates who successfully passed the physical and credentials screening are eligible to participate. Qualified applicants are required to log on to www.npfapplication.psc.gov.ng from Friday, April 24, 2026, to print their examination invitation cards, which will indicate the date, time, and venue of their tests.
Applicants are to come along with a pen, their National Identification Number (NIN) slip issued by the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) with a clear photograph, and a printed copy of their examination invitation card. The prescribed dress code is white shorts, white T-shirt, and white canvas.
The PSC reiterated that the recruitment process is entirely free, warning that any form of job racketeering, scams, or financial inducement will be met with the full force of the law.
In a related development, the Commissioner of Police, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command, Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi, has conducted a security assessment visit to Kuchi-Bena Village and Winning Court Estate in Lifecamp, Abuja, to evaluate the security situation and strengthen deployments in the area.
During the visit, the CP carried out an on-the-spot assessment of the security architecture and inspected a newly established police outpost provided by the estate. He subsequently directed the deployment of additional personnel to effectively man the facility and enhance operational efficiency.
According to a statement by the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, Josephine Adeh, the visit was also aimed at promoting peaceful coexistence. The police commissioner has scheduled a meeting with community leaders of Kuchi-Bena Village and residents of Winning Court Estate to address tensions and strengthen relations between indigenes and estate residents.
The CP also ordered intelligence-led raids and intensified anti-crime patrols in the area to forestall criminal activities and ensure a sustained security presence.
Residents of the FCT were urged to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious persons or activities to the nearest police station or through the FCT Police Command.
