The Gombe State Police Command has rescued two kidnapped teenagers—Murjah Isah (16) and Musa Abdulrahman (17)—who were abducted on June 24, 2025, in the Daban Fulani area of Kwami Local Government Area.
The abductors had demanded a ransom of ₦8 million and instructed the victims’ families to deliver the money near Kalshingi Hills.
Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Buhari Abdullahi, disclosed in a statement on Friday that operatives from the Kwadon Division launched a swift operation after receiving a distress report on July 10. He said the police successfully tracked the kidnappers to their hideout and rescued the victims unharmed.
The rescued teenagers were later reunited with their families after undergoing medical examinations.
In a related development, the police arrested two suspects—Abubakar Mohammed Garba and Ya’u Mohammed—in connection with a violent clash between rival Kalare thug groups in the London Maidorawa area of Akko Local Government.
Exhibits recovered from the suspects include a sharp cutlass and an Infinix Smart 8 android phone, valued at ₦90,000, reportedly stolen from a victim during the clash.
The police say investigations are ongoing, and efforts to curb criminal activities across the state will be sustained.
