Senator Allwell Onyesoh, representing Rivers East Senatorial District and Chairman of the Senate Committee on Federal Character and Inter-governmental Affairs, has firmly dismissed allegations linking him and his supporters to the killing of an OSPAC vigilante member in Umuayagu Village, Etche Local Government Area. The Senator described the claims as “fake, ridiculous, and the handiwork of the underworld,” calling them baseless and malicious attempts to tarnish his reputation.

In a statement released by his media aide, Peter Oriri, Senator Onyesoh condemned the circulation of misinformation, expressing disappointment over the efforts to defame his character. He categorically stated that the reports, which have been spreading on social media and various online platforms, are entirely false and malicious.

Clarifying his position, the Senator explained that since his return to Rivers State, he has remained at his residence in Port Harcourt, with no involvement in the local government elections or any related activities. He voiced his shock at the ongoing campaign of cyber-attacks and pledged to pursue legal action against those responsible for spreading such baseless rumours.

“Etche has been peaceful since I arrived in Rivers State yesterday, it is like a holiday and the news of a vigilante member’s death is both surprising and disturbing to me. If such an incident has indeed occurred, I will work with the relevant security agencies to ensure a thorough investigation to bring the perpetrators to justice,” said Senator Onyesoh.
