Youths, women, community leaders, opinion leaders, and Chiefs of the Eight Communities in Olo OLO Host Communities Development Trust OLO (HCDT) have been tasked to shun violence and acts that hinder development in their respective areas.

Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BOT) of Total Energies E&P Nigeria Limited, Mr Godwin  Worlu, has urged the people to embrace peace to attract developmental projects.

Worlu, however, frowned on medical officials who demanded money from community people for free medical services.

According to Worlu who spoke during the flag-off of the first Free Medical/Health Outreach programme, initiated by OLO HCDT at Elele, Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State, free medical services are not meant to be paid for.

Worlu promised to attract and initiate more developmental projects in the communities under his watch.

The chairman also assured that all the communities will be carried along in the distribution of projects and other empowerment programmes.

The communities include Elele Okiniali, Elele Alimini, Omudioga, Egbeda, Akpabu, Okporomini, and Eligbo among others in Ikwerre, Emohua, and Ahoada East Local Government Areas respectively.

The representative of Totalenergies, Mr Okechukwu Obara, who is the Community Affairs, Project and Development Manager, commended Olo HCDT for their initiative and urged them to ensure the completion of the project.

Earlier, the Chairman of Ikwere Local Council, Isreal Abosi, who spoke on behalf of the chairmen of Emohua and Ahoada LGAs, thanked the organisers of the programme and called on other companies doing business in Ikwerre and the state to emulate the gesture of TotalEnergies.
