A senior christian priest, Olupayimo Theophilus Bola-David, has stated that no pastor with divine calling will go into pastoral work for monetary gains.
Addressing newsmen in Ilorin, Kwara State capital, to end the weeklong silver jubilee of the church, the cleric added that whoever indulges in turning churches into money-making venture would mourn later in life.
According to the Senior Pastor presiding, Royal Covenant Assembly in Ilorin, “ministry is not to be a source of income; it is not a commercial venture.
“Ministry is freely received and should be freely given. Pastors should refuse the idea of moneymaking because if you (they) come to this work for money, you will mourn in this life and hereafter,” he cautioned.
He urged clerics to abide by their callings to be able to reap bountifully later in life and beyond.
He, however, stressed the reality of God in his ministry in the last 25 years, concluding that the creator has been faithful to him, his family, and the church.
Speaking on the theme of the anniversary: “i am that I am,” Olupayimo said the God has been faithful to him, explaining that he started the church in a charlet offered as a gift but now has unquantifiable edifice credited to his pillar, the Lord.
“The good Lord said to me specifically that ‘i will be with you , and he has been with us. Virtually, all God’s promise to me has come to past.
“We started in Amilengbe in a chalet given as a gift from where we were moving from chalets to chalets till we get here.
“The watch word therein is patience, perseverance, and endurance,” he preached.
