Two arraigned for stealing iron clips valued N9.8m
Two persons, Daniel Agbebaku and Fatima Alao, were on Tuesday arraigned before an Ojo Magistrates’ Court, Lagos, over alleged theft of iron clips valued N9.8 million.
Agbebaku, 26 and Alao, 60 are being charged with conspiracy and stealing, to which they pleaded not guilty.
The Prosecutor, ASP Simon Uche, told the court that the defendants committed the offence between October and November 2024 at the Ojo area of Lagos
Uche further said that Agbebaku conspired with others, now at large, and stole 6,550 pieces of iron clips belonging to the China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC).
“He stole the iron clips and sold them to Alao, who unlawfully received them, knowing that they were stolen,” he said.
The prosecutor said that the offence contravened Sections 287, 350 and 411 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.
The Magistrate, Mr L.K J Layeni, admitted the defendants to bail in the sum of N500,000 each, with two sureties each, and adjourned the case until Feb. 4, for mention.
