Umahi swears in 18 commissioners, 27 advisers

GOVERNOR Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State has sworn in 18 commissioners and 27 special advisers, charging them to focus on service to the state and create wealth for it.

Also sworn in were chairmen of commissions and boards. However, one of the nominee-commissioners, Sabinus Nwakweagu, was not sworn in due to security reports against him.

Umahi also warned them against victimising opposition politicians just as he asked them to eliminate corruption in their respective ministries. The commissioners are Euphemia Nwali (Culture and Tourism), Emmanuel Onwe (Information and State Orientation), Elizabeth Ogbaga (Commerce and Industry), Rebecca Ogbuewu (Women Affairs) and Augustine Nwankwegu (Justice and Attorney General).

Others include Uchenna Orji (Agriculture), Emma Uguru (Power), Sunday Inyima (Lands, Housing and Urban Development), Obinna Nwachukwu (Border Peace and Conflict Resolution), Donatus Njoku (Solid Minerals), Dr. Umezurike Akuma Daniel (Health), Akpunike Emeka Charles (Sports and Youth Development) and Francis Udu Orji (Water Resources).

There are also Dr. Dennis Ekumankama (Finance), Ogodo Ali Nome (Environment), Fidelis Nweze Kings (Works). Prof. John Eke Ubochi (Education) and Solomon Okoronwko (Local Government).
