Abia teachers commend Orji as he canvasses support for Ikpeazu

ABIA STATE teachers have commended   Governor Theodore Orji for promoting teachers  en mass to their next grade levels and putting in place a policy that ensures a teacher can attain the topmost  salary grade level  of  17  which was hitherto, not the case .

 The commendation was made on Tuesday evening when the State  Dean of Education Secretaries,  Mrs. Elizabeth Uhuegbu  spoke at  parley  Orji held with heads of primary schools, Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) , the Integrated Trade groups and Nigerian Association of Small Scale Industrialists (NASSI) at the Michael Okpara Auditorium, Umuahia, the state capital.

 According to her, teachers’ welfare has received great boost under Orji’s administration.

 “ It is under him that all teachers were promoted to their next  salary grade levels and  began to  enjoy  Salary Grade level 17” adding that in order to sustain this development,  they would  support the election of  Orji’s successor  with same  disposition favorable to teachers in the state.

 The governor who was also praised for renovation of school buildings across the state and provision of learning facilities , had  in his address assured teachers, artisans and professionals of his continued favourable disposition towards enhancing  their welfare.

He assured them that his likely successor and  governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu  who is a teacher and was present at the parley,  will  still improve on his achievements.

  He urged them to vote  for  Ikpeazu and other PDP candidates in this year’s elections.
