AS part of efforts to ensure that the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Akwa Ibom State, Udom Emmanuel wins, a social group, Udom Emmanuel Vanguard, has said it would be mobilising indigenes of the state in Lagos to vote Emmanuel.

The Chairman of the group, Sam Bassey, disclosed that it would be doing this through transporting Akwa Ibom indigenes in Lagos to Akwa Ibom to vote. The body maintained that its goal is to contribute a minimum of 500,000 votes in the April 11 election through strategic and aggressive marketing of Udom Emmanuel.

“We have just launched a caller tune for Udom Emmanuel, which we expect to spread like wildfire in the state to serve as a reminder for mobile phone users in taking a decision to vote for Udom Emmanuel.

“We have printed fliers for the campaign. As a deliberate policy, we are distributing fliers from Lagos to Akwa Ibom on daily basis, reminding them of Udom Emmanuel as the candidate of choice for governorship.

“We highlighted the main thrust of Udom Emmanuel’s manifesto- Industralisation, Wealth creation, Employment generation, Agricultural development, Youth Empowerment, etc.

“There is a campaign film in the works, which will be released three weeks before elections to keep voters refreshed on the best candidate to emerge from PDP and Eket Senatorial District as the Governor of the State,” he said.

The group argued that of the numerous candidates vying to be governor, Udom Emmanuel stood out as an exceptional candidate, as he is one of the most urbane individuals with exceptional academic and professional qualifications from the state.
