LABOUR party (LP) governorship candidate in Oyo state, Adebayo Alao Akala has called on Senator Abiola Ajimobi to call his boys to order and not to turn the state into a theatre of war

Alao Akala who spoke on a a private television station in the state capital said hoodlums allegedly sponsored by the All Progressive Congress (APC) were responsible for series of attack in the state.

“ It is quite unfortunate that the chief security officer of the state who claimed to have achieved sustainable peace since it came on board can be sponsoring hoodlums to attack those they considered as political threat “.

Alao Akala in a statement by his media aide, Abraham Ojo also debunked claims that his tenure was not peaceful saying the opposition was merely saying it to discredit him.

He said, “For some weeks now there have been incessant attacks on my supporters and candidates of other parties too, we all know who is behind the insult and attack on people for instance, the last time we went for a debate on a private radio station, the governor came with retinue of hoodlums who attacked us. They shot at us and one of my supporters was injured in the nose and some buses damaged

“I wonder why the likes of NURTW chairman and others who are ordinary union leaders should be given police escort, the governor is trying to shield   him and some of his cohorts who are being used for violence in the state “.

Alao Akala however assured the people of the state that his tenure would be peaceful and disaster free if elected.

“I will ensure that a strong and serious security measure is put in place to checkmate the activities of anybody or group of individuals that may want to truncate the peaceful co-existence of the people and at the same time ensure an enabling environment that will enhance peace and tranquility in the state”, he said
