EBONYI State Governor, Chief Martin Elechi, has listed forces and factors that are working against the electoral fortunes of President Jonathan’s second term ambition in his state, stressing that they need to be addressed.

Elechi noted that his state was rooting for President Jonathan for the very reasons that “he is naturally a good person, has proved beyond doubt that he can nuture the destiny of Nigeria to its highest destination and because the process of his emergence was both transparent and in full compliance with the electoral guidelines, constitutional and party’s requirements.”

The Governor, who made the issues public during a state-wide broadcast on Friday, however lamented that some highly placed individuals in the federal cabinet and the PDP headquarters are engaging in acts not only inimical to the party’s public perception but also injurious to the President’s electoral worth in Ebonyi State.

He accused the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator Anyim Pius Anyim of making frantic efforts to get the enlarged caucus of meeting of the PDP to pass a resolution for his impeachment, which he said President Jonathan stoutly opposed.

He said many members of Ebonyi State House of Assembly and senior officials of the state government have been coerced, in different ways, to commence impeachment process against him by some members National Headquarters of the PDP.

The accused agents in this regard are Uche Secondus, (Deputy National Chairman) and Olisa Metu, (National Publicity Secretary) and as a consequence of the threats, the Governor wondered where the political credits needed by the President would be coming from.

“If party faithful who have been loyal to the party are ignored and ministerial appointment given to a decampee of the party, whose atrocities while in the opposition are such that he is denied re-admittance into the PDP, how are the party faithful expected to react?” Elechi wondered.
