FIVE political parties in Ogun State Friday endorsed the candidature of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka in the Feburary 28 Governorship election.

The parties are African Democratic Congress (ADC), Allied Congress Party of Nigeria (ACPN), African People Allience (APA), Action Alliance (AA) and People for Democratic Change (PDC).

The Chairman of APA, Alhaji Mojeed Alao Kelani who spoke on behalf of the other parties at a Press Conference in Abeokuta, said they arrived at the decision because they were convinced that Isiaka would be able to provide the State with a “resourceful and purposeful leadership.”

Besides, he said they had no doubt that Isiaka’s administration would be able to “deliver the much eluded dividends of democracy.”

In another development, the PDP Senatorial District in Ogun East, Prince Buriji Kashamu has declared that his intention to contest the position was solely to serve the people and not to make money.

“My intention to contest this election is borne out of my desire to further alleviate the sufferings of the people in my area and also provide quality representation for them as regards dividends of democracy.

To the five parties, the present All Progressives Congress (APC) administration in the State has been “engrossed in cosmetic programmes to build bridges and roads” which are concentrated only in the urban areas.

“The decision to adopt the PDP political party candidate was taken by our various political parties after series of deliberations and a thorough search conducted amongst the various candidates vying for governorship position.”

“We are convinced beyond reasonable doubt that the integrity and quality of character possessed by GNI (Isiaka) will guarantee equity, justice and fair play for all our citizens and will take our dear State to the next level in the area of social and economic development.”
