A SOCIO-cultural association comprising all Hausa speaking tribes, Masikishi Hausawa, Oyo state chapter has endorsed the candidature of the Accord Party (AP) governorship candidate in the state, Senator Rashidi Ladoja state.

According to a release signed by its chairman, Alhaji Faira Ibrahim and secretary Saidu Mahmood Saidu aka Papi, the group noted that after a rigorous and detailed observation of all the candidates seeking to govern the state, Ladoja was the most acceptable.

They opined that while Ladoja was in office between 2003 and 2007, his educational policy, which was not discriminatory, was of immense benefit to their members adding that the former governor recorded notable achievements in such sectors as roads, healthcare, agriculture and youth employment formed the basis of their support for his candidature.

Being a major player in the agriculture sector, the group hinted that most of its members who have had course to relate with Ladoja attested to his integrity and honesty.

Meanwhile, food vendors and canteen workers in all the 33 local government areas of the state have pledged their support for the second term bid of the state governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi.

The food vendors and canteen workers, under the aegis of Food Vendors and Canteen Workers Union, declared their support at a rally held at the Remembrance Arcade, Government House, Ibadan.

The Chairperson of the union, Alhaja Mopelade Aderemi Iyadunni, who led thousands of her members at the rally, said they decided to pitch their tent with Governor Ajimobi because he was the best among the contenders for the governorship seat.

Iyadunni particularly acknowledged what she described as the unprecedented achievements of the governor in the last four years in the areas of social and physical infrastructure, which had led to the rapid transformation of the state.

Besides, the Chairperson also said that Ajimobi deserved a second term in office for bringing peace and tranquility, which had hitherto eluded the state, a feat which she said had helped her members tremendously in their business.

She assured the governor that members of her union would vote for him and other candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) including the party’s presidential candidate, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (rtd.) at the forthcoming general elections.

“We have taken our time to assess you and others contesting against you and we have decided to cast our votes for you and other APC candidates because you have performed tremendously well.

“We can never forget the gains which your administration has brought to us. If only for nothing, the peace that has been reigning in Oyo State since your assumption of office which has helped our business is enough reason for us to support you for a second term,’’ Iyadunni said.

In his remarks, Governor Ajimobi said that he would not relent in his support for the food vendors and canteen workers in the state.
