NIGER State Deputy Governor, Ahmed Musa Ibeto is now the leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Niger State.

Ibeto defected to the APC from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Monday.

APC Chairman in the state, Mallam Mohammed Iman, announced this in Minna during the inauguration of the party’s gubernatorial campaign committee said the decision to make Ibeto head was informed by the fact that by his position as a deputy governor he is the most senior political figure in the party.

He said the decamping of the deputy governor to APC will add value to the party in its quest to form the next government in the state, adding that Ibeto is one of the most experienced politicians in the state today, having served as a protocol officer to former governor Abdulkadir Kure, a local council chairman, a member of house representatives and deputy governor for over seven years.

Speaking shortly after being presented to APC supporters, he said that all positions being contested for by the party in the state would be won.

According to him, “Niger will deliver the presidential position to the APC. APC will win all the 25 seats in the state House of Assembly, the three senatorial seats and the seats of the 10 House of Representatives.”

Ibeto said that the APC has goodwill for its members and it is the party for the people. “APC is a party of the people, it is a party that believe that the people are supreme and God willing, APC will win.”

He said that the members of the campaign council ‎are credible men and women who has the interest of the state at heart and would work towards ensuring that APC wins the general elections in the state.

In his address, the state APC gubernatorial candidate, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello called on the committee to begin work immediately.
