Ihedioha rolls out nine- point agenda if elected Imo governor
THE Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives and the Imo State People’s Democratic Party (PDP), governorship standard bearer, Chief Emeka Ihedioha, has unveiled a nine- point agenda he would prosecute if he is elected the governor of the state in February 28 polls.
Ihedioha said while in his commencement of his campaigns in Oru East, Oru West and Okigwe Local councils, listing them to include free and qualitative education, sound health system, re-absorption of the 10,000 Imo workers sacked by Governor Rochas Okorocha, good agricultural policy, massive employment scheme, revamping Imo’s economic base, care for the young and aged, provision of desirable infrastructure among others.
He solicited for himself and President Goodluck Jonathan, the overwhelming votes of electorate in Imo West, Imo North and Imo East senatorial districts of the state.
Accompanied by his running mate, Chief Chuma Nnaji, the publisher of Champion Newspapers and Board of Trustees (BoT), member of the party, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, a former governor of Imo State, Chief Achike Udenwa, the state chairman of the PDP, Chief Nnamdi Anyaehie, and other top party officials, the governorship candidate accused the Imo State Governor, Chief Rochas Okorocha of plunging the state into huge even asw he urged Imo people to vote Okorocha out and instead cast their votes for him and enthrone him as their governor come May 29, 2015.
He also used the occasion to pay courtesy visits on the monarchs of the areas visited, receiving their blessings.
A visibly embittered Ihedioha said: “‘It is saddening to note that Okorocha has borrowed so much money since he assumed office with nothing tangible to show for it.
The deceit and desecration of our values we have witnessed under his watch as governor is alarming and wicked. Therefore , his time is up and we must show him the way out so that we can begin to restore the lost values and repair the collapsed infrastructure.
He alleged that Okorocha borrowed N43billion few months ago without anything yet to show Imolites.
“This is wicked, frustrating and God will not let these things continue because He has heard the cries of Imo people.’
In their speeches, Iwuanyanwu and Udenwa urged Imo people of voting age to support and cast their votes for Ihedioha and Jonathan, regretting that Buhari, who they alleged is an Islamic fundamentalist, could plunge the nation into war .
Udenwa also accused Okorocha of taking much of the resources of the state to the advantage of his family.
But Okorocha who defended himself through his spokesman, Sam Onwuemedo said his opponents were carrying out a campaign of lies and half-truths , stressing his government has not borrowed the um they were alleging.
