Kidnappers of the stepmother of the special adviser to Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong, on Public Affairs, Diket Plang and a lady, who was taking care of her at home have reduced the N200 million ransom they originally demanded to N5 million before their victims could be released.

Plang, who disclosed this to The Guardian, yesterday, said the reduction came after several pleas, but the family still found the demand too high and are still talking with them.

The kidnappers had on Friday stormed the family residence of the special adviser at Takas village in Fier District of Pankshin Local Council of Plateau State, and abducted his step mother and the lady.

The gunmen, however, killed his step brother, Fwang Shak Plang, who also stayed with the step-mother and was said to have noticed the movement of the kidnappers, but decided to move outside to see who they were.

Sources said the kidnappers had positioned themselves well and saw his step brother first and one of them approached him with cutlass and the boy was brutally matcheted and he died on Saturday March 19, 2022.

But the kidnappers swiftly whisked away the step mother and the lady staying with her to an unknown destination.
On Sunday, the kidnappers demanded the sum close to N200 million before the victims could be released.
