Ladoja to run purposeful govt if elected, says former Speaker

THE Director General of Ladoja Campaign Organisation, Honourable Adeolu Adeleke, has assured that the party’s governorship candidate, Senator Rashidi Ladoja would run a purposeful government if elected in this month election

Adeleke also said the organisation is in possession of facts and figures that show that the government of Senator Abiola Ajimobi is wasteful and thrives on deceit.

Adeleke, in a release signed by him and made available to newsmen in Ibadan, said the wastefulness of the All Progressives Congress-run government was responsible for its inability to pay workers and pensioners their salaries and pension as and when due and pick its other bills.

The DG, who is also a former speaker of the state House of Assembly, said one of the instances of wastefulness as exemplified by the Ajimobi-led government was the demolition of the banquet hall in the Government House in 2013, which reconstruction, he said, was awarded for N1.5 billion with additional consultancy fee of N97 million.

He said although the building had shown no sign of distress before it was pulled down by the government under what he called ‘the pervasive job-for-the-boys syndrome that characterises the Ajimobi-led administration’, the foundation of the hall had not been laid since 2013.

He noted that the same fate had befallen the secondary schools bulldozed by the Ajimobi-led government under the guise of turning them into model schools, adding that work on the schools had not gone beyond the foundation level while the students in such schools have had their education disrupted.

“The APC government has abandoned the construction of the proposed Oyo State Technical University after spending N50m for the clearing of the land. The government is also so confused that it has moved the location of the phantom university to three different places, making it a nomadic university. The latest of such locations in Egbeda Local Government Area has been overtaken by weed.” Adeleke said.

He charged the people of the state to remain resolute in their resolve to send the “Ajimobi government” parking in this month election.
