OGUN State Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka, has accused Governor Ibikunle Amosun and agents of the All Progressives Congress (APC) of removing his campaign billboards on major streets and other strategic locations within the state.

Isiaka who spoke in Abeokuta, accused Amosun of intolerance and urged the Governor and his followers to desist from doing anything that would disturb the peace before, during and after elections.

But the Director of media, Senator Ibikunle Amosun campaign

organisation, Mr Femi Sowoolu denied the allegation, insisting that the Governor knew nothing about the allegation.

“The Governor therefore has no reasons whatsoever to resort to such behavior and it would be a rather unfortunate claim by the opposition, if truly it were made”.

Isiaka told journalists at a spots in Abeokuta where one of the bill boards were removed, “Late yesterday we placed here and somewhere around Moshood Abiola way two billboards that show my picture and some inscriptions on it, they were placed around 7 am yesterday”.

“But on getting here this morning (yesterday), the one on Moshood

Abiola way was completely removed to an unknown destination why the one here was completely destroyed as you can see the carcass of the billboard here”, he asserted.

“And what we have come here this morning to do is for us to come and have a look at the scene and this is not the first time this would happen, in the last one month, our posters have been destroyed by agents of Senator Ibikunle Amosun all over the state and we feel that there should be an end to this impunity”.

“We have come here to see for ourselves and to send a strong warning to Senator Ibikunle Amosun’s agents to desist from this, we are all clamouring for a peaceful election, we are all clamouring for an election that will be free from any security challenges, this should not be coming from a government that is in place and for us, this is not done, we are not going to condone this, we can not be putting all our posters around the state and they will keep destroying it”, physically disturbed Isiaka said.

Sowoolu who asked the PDP candidate to stop linking Amosun with the issue said, “Governor Amosun has strictly followed the rules of fair play throughout his campaign activity.

“ His efforts of performance in less than four years are evident for all to see, and he is much loved, cherished and supported by the good people of Ogun State”.
