PDP Unleashes Operation ‘Restore’, Storms Anambra North

THE campaign train of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Anambra state has kicked off with rallies at strategic points within the North Senatorial zone. 

  Already tagged ‘operation restore’, the mammoth crowd that welcomed the campaign train at Otuocha, Nteje, Anaku and Nzam so far has shown that the “power to the People” party is really on a positive rebound mission to recover the entire seats.

  According to the party leader and the South senatorial candidate, Chief Chris Uba, “we have watched the goings on enough and are now committed to recovering our positions. We are committed to attracting outstanding development and federal government to the whole state especially the zone.”

  Also, Mr. Dozie Nwankwo, who is the House of Representatives candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) for Anaocha/Dunukofia/Njiloka seat, has continued in his campaigns round the constituency. Already he has visited Nawgu, Ukwulu, Aweze, Adazi Nnukwu and other communities. At each of the communities, he distributed about 300,000 free exercise books to pupils in primary schools as a way to assist them and their parents.

  At Adazi Nnukwu yesterday, during a courtesy call, Chief Pius Obiakonwa urged the people to go for him because he is a good man.

  He spoke in line with the chieftains of other communities who saw in Nwankwo a sterling character who would move the area forward, with the instrumentality of the National Assembly.

  Introducing Prince John Emeka, who is the PDP North senatorial candidate to the crowd of enthusiastic supporters at each of the rallies, Chief Uba admitted that he is a popular son of the area who has shown so much zeal to improve the lot of the people.   

  He therefore urged them to give him and all other PDP candidates their maximum support and cooperation.

  Emeka, in a brief remark, acknowledged his modest achievements during his appointment as the Minister of Water Transport; that he saw to the dredging of the Niger and the commencement of the now abandoned Anambra-Kogi-Abuja highway.   

  He expressed eagerness do more when he goes to the National Assembly and appealed for their votes and support.
