Police plan to secretly arraign ‘Lenin’, other #EndBadGovernance protesters — Group

The Network of Abuja Left Groups has revealed that one of the detained leaders of the #Endbadgovernance protests, Adaramoye Michael (Lenin), and other arrested demonstrators would be secretly arraigned before a Federal High Court (FCT) in Abuja on Monday, August 19.

This is even as the coalition has revealed that it would protest at the court premises during his arraignment on Monday.

In a statement by the group and made available to The Guardian on Sunday, the group described the arraignment as politically motivated.

“Please take note, there will be peaceful protests in front of the court tomorrow Monday, starting by 9 am. The goal of the protests is to challenge the government on the political persecution of peaceful protesters and call for an end to the political trial,” the statement reads.

Recall that Adaramoye was picked up in the wake of the #Endbadgovernance protests in the early hours of August 5 at his residence in the Apo area of Abuja.

The Guardian learned that he was picked up alongside three other leaders of the Network of Abuja Left Groups.

It was also gathered that they were arrested in Gestapo style by security operatives who arrived at their apartment in seven trucks and whisked them away blindfolded.
